Revising American Football Skills

I revised American football skills.

First I revised  how to throw and catch the football. To catch a football you need to make your hands a triangle. Also when you throw the ball you put your arms up like a square and turn your arm 90 degree angle.

Next I played a game while using throwing and passing. Everytime you drop the ball you have to go on one knee. If both of your knees go down that means you lose an arm. If you lose all your arms you lose and you restart on playing the game.

Lastly, I played a game called cone drop. To play the game there are three cones. You have to hit the first cone, the second cone, and the third cone. If you knock all the cones down there are three cones that are stacked and that is the last target you have to hit so you can win.

I enjoyed this acitivty because I got to revise football skills. I need to improve on passing the ball. I did well on catching the ball.

Passing

I learned how to pass in Ki O Rahi.

First the teacher showed how to pass a ball. To pass a ball you have to put your leg behind your back and put one foot forward and with your hands you hold the ball with two hands and push both of your hands and release the ball. To catch the ball I make a W with my hands to catch the ball.

Then we played a game. In octopus we have to use stepping in the game of octopus. If someone gets tagged they have to stand like a seaweed and try to tag people while you are stuck.

Next we get into groups and make a triangle and keep passing until you have passed the ball 20 times. After passing the 20 times the challenge got harder. The challenge was to pass it 40 times. If you drop the ball you start over again.

Lastly, we split into 2 teams. There was one person in the middle and kept everyone in the circle. If someone in the group drops the ball you have to start over again.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to learn more skills of passing. I need to improve on my W with my hands. I did well on passing the ball.

Stepping

I learned how to step in Ki o rahi.

We first watched Ahli demonstrate how to step a person. To step a person in front of you step one leg forward then push your leg then step your other foot forward then push.

Then we played a game while using the move of stepping. We had to step each cone then come back from the other side. The aim was to try and step the cone as fast as you can and then come back.

Lastly, we played octopus. In octopus there were two taggers. If the tagger tags someone the person that is stuck has to stretch their arms out and try to tag people. If someone else wants to free someone they have to go under their legs and then they are free.

I did not enjoy this activity because we did not get to learn more about stepping. I did well on stepping cones. I need to improve on going under peoples’ legs.

Revising Soccer Skills

I revised soccer skills.

First I revised passing the ball in a triangle. To pass the ball you use the inside of your foot and to stop it you can put your foot on the ball or put your foot by the side of the ball.

Next we played a game, by using dribbling. If you finish dribbling you go at the back of the line. To dribble the ball you have to dribble the ball close to your foot and use the inside of your foot. We have to dribble to the other side and then back.

Last I played another game. In this game we need to use our passing skills to pass to each other. I have to pass around the ball to my teammates without the other team kicking the ball or touching the ball. If the ball goes out it is the other team’s ball, the amount of passes we need to do is five.

I enjoyed it because I got to revise my soccer skills. I did well on revising passing skills. I need to improve on passing the ball.

Revising Soccer Skills

I revised my soccer skills.

I first revised passing and stopping the ball. To pass the ball I have to kick the ball with the inside of my foot. To stop the ball I could put my foot on the ball or stop the ball with the inside of my foot.

Next we did a reay line. To make the ball go straight we used our non-dominant foot to aim the ball.

Then I played a game using dribbling. I had to dribble to the other side and go back. If someone lost control of the ball they would be a zombie. The zombie’s job is to make the dribbler lose control of the ball.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to revise dribbling. I need to improve on dribbling the ball. I did well on kicking the ball straight.

New Soccer Skills

I learned new soccer skills.

I first learned how to dribble the ball to my partner.

Next I learned how to pass the ball to my partner. I passed the ball straight sometimes but I kept kicking the ball too hard and too little.

Then I had to kick the ball but with my dominant foot. I was not very great at passing the ball with my dominant foot.

Lastly, we played a game including kicking the ball to each other but the other team cannot touch the ball or else we repeat hitting the ball 8 times again.

I enjoyed it because I got to learn new skills. I need to improve on passing the ball. I did  well on communicating the ball to my team.

T-Ball Skills

I learned and revised more T-Ball Skill.

First we played a warm up game. We played a warm up game by using both hand on the noddle to help us swinging with the bat. This time there were four taggers. If I got tagged I had to stand on one leg and count to ten, if I put my one leg down you have to count to ten again.

Next Coach Cameron told us to put our feet next to the home base. The second thing is making the T the right height for me to hit it. The third thing was we had to put our hands together to hit the T-ball. The fourth thing he told us was make sure people are dispensing from you when your gonna hit the ball. We revised the names for each base. I then played a game of T-ball. I was first a batter. I hitted the ball then ran two the second base, but then they touched me on the shoulder so I was out.

Last we switched so I was a fielder. The other team hitted the ball to me so I threw the ball to Riley to step in the hop. I then picked up the ball and then touched the runner with the ball to make them be out.

I enjoyed this activity because I did some good bats. I need to improve communicating to my team. I did well on hitting the ball hard.

T-Ball Skills

I learned T-ball skills.

First I played a game called noddle tag. There are 2 tagers and the people have to run from the 2 taggers, but if you get taged you have to stand on one leg and stretch yor arms out and wait until someone tags your hands.

Next I was practice running to each home bases, after running to each home base we had to undersand the rules of T-ball.

Then our team was batting first, I had to bat the T-ball as hard as I wanted. After hitting the T-ball I have to run to one of the home bases, if one of the fielders put the ball back on the T-ball holder I was out.

Last we was a Fielder, First I was getting them out by throwing the ball to Mathues while he was in one of the home base for them to get out. After that I catched the ball when it did not touch the ground.

I enjoyed this activity because I got learn new skill of T-ball. I need to imrpove on catching the ball. I did well on hitting the ball.

Hockey Skills

We revised our hockey skills.

I first played a game called taniwha. To play taniwha there is one taniwha and we were using a skill called dribbling. Then the taniwha has try to take the peoples hockey ball to  get them out. If your ball goes out the sqaure you are out. The taniwha hit my ball out of the sqaure.

Next I played taniwha again but this time w were playing the foot game. The taniwha has to hit your foot with your hockey ball. I try stopping the taniwha from hitting my foot but I was to focused on my ball.

Then I revised dribble dribble push pass. I was moving around so when they call out a color I can make my hockey ball touch the cone that the. I had to dribble dribble push pass to my partner because he was closer to a green cone.

Last I played a game called the 4 corner hockey. There are 4 colors red, blue, green, and yellow. I had to try and hit our cone to get a point if the ball goes out the of the sqaure the game is done. I did not let blue get a point so I hit the ball to Mathues then he hit our cone.

I enjoy this activity becuase I got revised how to dribble. I need to improve on communicating to my partner. I did well because my push pass was straight.

Relationships

We learnt how to Identify characteristics of a good team member and Identify Actions and factors that can prevent a team from working cooperatively

First we define characteristics. For example, brave is a characteristic that explains that you’re not scared and you don’t fear anyone.

Then we put our negative words on the outside of the body and our positive words on the inside for example. Communicating, It is positive because it helps your team.

Lastly we played a game and it was all about teamwork. We failed because we didn’t communicate when we played the game.

We enjoyed this task because it was all about teamwork. We need to improve on communicating as a group. We did good at writing our negative and positive words.
